Who We Help
Menstrual Issues
The menstrual cycle is controlled by hormones from start to finish. A large population of women have signs of hormone imbalance and they don’t even know it! We often hear “I’ve always been like that so it’s normal”. Normal for YOU doesn’t equal health.
What does a normal period look like?
It should come every 28-31 days, no cramping, no pain, no PMS symptoms. It just starts a steady medium flow of fresh red colored blood and then stops 3-5 days later. No clots and very little spotting.
Do you see signs such as:
-
Cycle is too short
-
Cycle is too long
-

Chinese medicine can be used to assess exactly what is going wrong in your cycle and correct it through the use of chinese herbs and acupuncture.
Labs aren’t even a necessity to treatment. We focus on treating the root of the hormone imbalance and correct it. Birth control is just a way to trick the body but the underlying imbalance is always present and possibly worsening as time goes on. Surgery has its obvious negative impacts on the body.
The menstrual cycle is controlled by hormones from start to finish. The cycle first begins in the hypothalamus which is responsible for many endocrine functions. It controls things like your body’s thirst, hunger, sleep patterns and your libido. The hypothalamus sends a chemical messenger that communicates with the pituitary. The pituitary is responsible for secreting follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and leutenizing hormone (LH) into the bloodstream which will trigger ovulation. After the egg is released, the corpus luteum secretes estrogen and progesterone to thicken the lining for implantation. If implantation doesn’t occur, the menses will begin.
